From Picture Book to Brisbane icon

Stanley is the character from children’s book, brought to life by Brisbane authors in partnership with Gold Coast illustrator. Stanley is a rising star, and standout success with children, families and educators, making his way into the bookstores, schools and libraries of our Sunshine State.

A symbol of culture and community

Stanley, with his black feathers and red head, already wears gold around his neck. A nod to the colours of our Indigenous flag, this acknowledgment of Australia’s First Nations heritage, is a meaningful symbol of unity as the historical world event is hosted here in Brisbane, on Turrbal and Yuggera Country. What a way to foster connection to our country as we celebrate the coming together of diverse cultures and communities from around the world.
